Ben Walker Radio started in 2002 as the full band version of songwriter Ben Walker's solo music. Rooted in Columbia's emo/indie scene, BWR was a popular opening act for bands like Burns Out Bright, The Mountain Goats, Twothirtyeight, & Colour Revolt. BWR started as an acoustic indie rock band. When long-time collaborator Aaron Luther joined the band, BWR adopted a louder more electric sound.
